The following
is an official statement of the DC Sports and Entertainment Commission:
MISSION
The D.C. Sports & Entertainment Commission, an
independent agency of the District of Columbia government, is responsible
for the management and operation of RFK Stadium, the D.C. Armory and its
adjacent facilities and for presenting and promoting sports, entertainment
and special events in the District and the Washington Metropolitan Region.

CHAIRMAN
Mayor Williams appointed John L. Richardson chairman of
the DCSEC on June 29, 1999. He has been practicing law in Washington since
1967 and is currently with the firm of Crispin & Brenner. Richardson
attended the University of Michigan and the University of Virginia Law
School. He was a commissioned officer in the United States Army in which
he served from 1962 to 1964. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the
District of Columbia Bar and the American Bar Association. He and his wife
Peggy reside in the District. He resigned on June 18, 2003.
