Principal in a Democratic political consulting and direct mail firm that specializes in creative and effective media solutions and grassroots outreach. Direct Mail client list includes Emily’s List, DSCC, AFSCME, Maryland Democratic State Party, NAACP NVF, NEA, Tim Kaine For Governor.

Other recent clients include Political Strategy/Outreach Consultant for Peebles Corporation; Senior Advisor, Orange For At-Large DC Council; Senior Political Advisor, Bill Richardson for President; Political Director, Bob Brady for Mayor.

2003-2004 DEAN FOR AMERICA, DEPUTY CAMPAIGN MANAGER.

Served in senior staff capacity with focus on the development and implementation of constituent outreach strategy including national and field staffing, press, media, direct mail, candidate scheduling, state level organizing, etc.

2003 CAROL MOSELEY BRAUN FOR PRESIDENT, CAMPAIGN MANAGER.

Managed the campaign’s operations; hired senior staff, oversaw message development, campaign budget creation, fundraising strategies, candidate scheduling. Also oversaw strategy for state primary/caucus targeting and delegate tracking, etc.

2002-2003 BUILDING BLOCKS FOR YOUTH INITIATIVE, CAMPAIGN MANAGER.

Developed outreach and communications strategy for a juvenile justice reform effort designed to address Florida’s high incidence of waiving juveniles into the adult system.

OPEN SOCIETY INSTITUTE, CRIMINAL JUSTICE INITIATIVE, CONSULTANT.

Develop public education opportunities for targeted constituencies that promote the findings in major criminal justice report. For example, set up congressional hearings; provide support for national policy conferences, press initiatives, etc.

2001-2002 OPEN SOCIETY INSTITUTE-DC, COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER.

Oversaw development of communications and media strategy; researched and edited concept papers, media papers and electronic publications analyzing domestic and international sociopolitical issues.

2000-2001 NAACP NATIONAL VOTER FUND, COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR.

Developed and implemented communications and media strategies for historic non-partisan voter mobilization and get-out-the vote campaign in 12 states four congressional districts. This included radio and TV advertising, direct mail, collateral materials for canvassing; supervised press and media consultants, directed research and coordinated the legal review and approval process; organized media briefings, state and national press conferences.

1998-1999 JOHN WHITE, JR. FOR MAYOR, DEPUTY CAMPAIGN MANAGER.

Oversaw administrative functions for the campaign office; took part in message creation and scheduling and fund raising decisions; prepared candidate on issues; shadowed candidate at events and interfaced with the press.

1996-1998 CAROL MOSELEY BRAUN FOR U.S. SENATE. SPECIAL PROJECTS COORDINATOR.

Coordinated the initial thrust for the U.S Senator’s re-election campaign including the development of political strategy, media strategy, constituent outreach plan and fundraising structure.
