Linda Cropp At the request of the Mayor A PROPOSED RESOLUTION IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA To declare the existence of an emergency with respect to the need to approve the recommendations of the Health Care System Development Commission. RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution may be cited as the "Health Care System Development Commission Recommendations Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2000". Sec. 2. (a) There exists an immediate crisis regarding action on the Health Care System Development Commission Resolution. The Commission completed work on February 26, 2000 and submitted its recommendations to the Mayor. No action has been taken by Council on those recommendations, in part, due to a scheduling delay on the part of the Council's Committee on Human Services. The Commission's report is in the process of being published and distributed. The resolution is an important component of this report. Therefore, it is critical that this resolution undergo an expedited review process. (b) It is vital that the Council act to affirm the resolution. Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia finds that the circumstances enumerated in section 2 constitute emergency circumstances making it necessary that the Health Care Development Commission Recommendations Emergency Approval Resolution of 2000 be adopted on an emergency basis. Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately. |
