To confirm the appointment of Mr. Vincent H. Cohen to the Washington Convention Center
Board of Directors.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution may be cited
as the Washington Convention Center Authority Board of Directors Vincent H. Cohen
Confirmation Resolution of 1999.
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:
Mr. Vincent H. Cohen
1851 Redwood Terrace, N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20012
(Ward 4)
as a public member of the Washington Convention Center Authority Board of Directors,
established by section 205 of the Washington Convention Center Authority Act of 1994, D.C.
Law 10-188, effective September 28, 1994, completing the unexpired term of Terence C.
Golden, whose term will end May 16, 1999 and for a full 4-year term to commence thereafter
ending, May 16, 2003, and as Chairman to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor.
Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this
resolution, upon its adoption, each to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
Sec. 4. This resolution shall have no fiscal impact.
Sec. 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Web Biography
Vincent H. Cohen
Mr. Cohen is a cum laude graduate of Syracuse University and Syracuse University
Law School (1960) and was Associate and Recent Decisions Editor of the Syracuse Law
Review. A former All American basketball player as an undergraduate, he currently is
one of Hogan & Hartson's litigation and labor partners.
Mr. Cohen has litigated civil and criminal jury and nonjury cases and argued appeals in
all of the local and federal courts of the District of Columbia. His litigation experience
includes products liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death, workers' compensation,
Title VII, legal malpractice, false arrest, malicious prosecution and breach of contract.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Cohen was a trial attorney with the United
States Department of Justice and Director of Compliance of the United States Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission. He is a member of the New York, Ohio and District of
Columbia Bars.
Mr. Cohen formerly served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Public Defender
Service of the District of Columbia, Vice Chairman of the District of Columbia Commission
on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure, and two terms as a member of the Board of Governors
of the District of Columbia Bar. In addition, Mr. Cohen has served on numerous District of
Columbia Bar committees and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. |
