AN ACT

IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

To amend, on an emergency basis, D.C. Act 12-391 and An Act authorizing the sale of certain real estate in the District of Columbia no longer required for public purposes to extend the time in which the Mayor may dispose of the Old Children's Hospital site in Ward I and real property in Ward 5 approved for disposition by the Council as surplus, from June 4, 1998, to December 4, 1998, and to provide a statement of fiscal impact for this action.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this act may be cited as the "Extension of Time to Dispose of District Owned Surplus Real Property Revised Emergency Amendment Act of 1998".

Sec. 2. The Extension of Time to Dispose of District Owned Surplus Real Property Emergency Amendment Act of 1998, signed by the Mayor on June 17, 1998 (D.C. Act 12-391), is amended as follows:

(a) Section 2 is amended by striking the date "September 4, 1998" and inserting the date "December 4, 1998" in its place.

(b) Section 3 is amended to read as follows:

"Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement.
"This act has no fiscal impact.".

Sec. 3. Section 1 of An Act authorizing the sale of certain real estate in the District of Columbia no longer required for public purposes, approved August 5, 1939 (53 Stat. 1211, D.C. Code §9-401), is amended by adding a new subsection (d-1) to read as follows:

"(d-1) Notwithstanding subsection (d) of this section, the time period within which the Mayor may dispose of the property located on Square 272, Lot 45 at 13th Street, 12th Street and W Street in N.W. (Ward One), known as the Old Children's Hospital, by conveyance to Donnetelli & Klein, Inc. and the property located on Square 4107, Lots 227 and 900 and Square 4103, Lots 826 and 827 on W Street, N.E. (Ward Five) by conveyance to Crane Rental Company is extended from June 4,1998, to December 4, 1998.".

Sec. 4. Fiscal impact statement.

This act has no fiscal impact.

Sec. 5. This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto) and approval by the Financial Responsibility and Management Assistance Authority as provided in section 203(a) of the District of Columbia Financial Responsibility and Management Assistance Act of 1995, approved April 17, 1995 (109 Stat. 116; D.C. Code §47-392.3(a)), and shall remain in effect for no longer than 90 days, as provided for emergency acts of the Council of the District of Columbia in section 412(a) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 788; D.C. Code 1-229(a)).
