MENDELSON THANKS VOTERS FOR SUPPORT
Councilmember Shakes Hands at Anacostia Metro Station

(Washington, DC) - At 8:00 a.m. today, Councilmember Phil Mendelson went to the Anacostia metro station to thank District residents for supporting him in yesterday's primary election.

"I appreciate the city-wide support I received. I think the polls show that the voters are interested in issues and that I have been responsive to the concerns of communities across the District," stated Mendelson. "The fact that all of the incumbents on the Council have strong leads over their challengers demonstrates that residents of the District of Columbia approve of the direction the city is heading. This city is stronger than it was four years ago - although much still needs to be done," he continued.

This week, Councilmember Mendelson plans to visit metro stations in other parts of the city to express his thanks to the residents of the District of Columbia.
