A PROPOSED RESOLUTION IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

Chairman Linda W. Cropp, at the request of the Mayor, introduced the following resolution, which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

To approve the proposed rules governing the Metropolitan Police Department's use of its closed circuit television system.

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution may be cited as the "Metropolitan Police Department Closed Circuit Television System Rulemaking Approval Resolution of 2002".

Sec 2. Pursuant to § 2(a) of the Metropolitan Police Department Video Surveillance Regulations Temporary Act of 2002, effective June 25, 2002 (D.C. Law 158), on June 12, 2002 the Mayor transmitted to the Council the proposed rules governing the Metropolitan Police Department's use of its closed circuit television system. The proposed rules, entitled "Metropolitan Police Department Use Of Closed Circuit Television", would amend Title 24 DCMR by adding a new Chapter 25.

Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia approves the proposed rules as submitted.

Sec 4. Upon its adoption, the Secretary to the Council shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Mayor.

Sec 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
