A PROPOSED RESOLUTION IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA To confirm the reappointment of Mr. Stephen G. Callas to the District of Columbia Board of Elections and Ethics. RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution may be cited as the "District of Columbia Board of Elections and Ethics Stephen G. Callas Confirmation Resolution of 2002". Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of: Mr. Stephen G. Callas as a member of the District of Columbia Board of Elections and Ethics, established by section 3 of the District of Columbia Election Code of 1955, approved August 12, 1955 (69 Stat. 699; D.C. Official Code § 1-1001.03), for a term to end July 7, 2004. Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution, upon its adoption, each to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor. Sec. 4. BOARD WORK: (from first position, to last position) VOLUNTEER WORK: White House Volunteer, 1993-97 (Performed various White House volunteer duties in the Old Executive Office Building: Worked in the Comments Office, then the Health Care Reform Information Center, and finally in the White House Office of Special Projects.) POLITICAL WORK: Administrative Assistant to N.J. Assembly Majority Leader & Speaker William Kurtz. RECOMMENDATIONS:
GENERAL: I would like to be confirmed to the post, member, D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics, for a second term, because I believe that I have the ability, knowledge, integrity and experience to be an effective Board member. I am also a dedicated person and had an attendance record of 95% as a Library Board member and a 100% attendance record as a member of the Board of Elections and Ethics. |
