A PROPOSED RESOLUTION IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA To confirm the reappointment of Mr. John L. Richardson to the District of Columbia Sports Commission Board of Directors.RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution may be cited as the "District of Columbia Sports Commission Board of Directors John L. Richardson Confirmation Resolution of 2001 ". Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of: Mr. John L. Richardson as a member of the District of Columbia Sports Commission Board of Directors, established by section 5 of the Omnibus Sports Consolidation Act of 1994, effective August 23, 1994 (D.C. Law 10-152; D.C. Code §3-1404), for a term to end December 31, 2005. Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution, upon its adoption, each to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor. Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately. JOHN L. His clients include foreign corporations doing business in the U.S. and domestic corporations doing business abroad. He also advises foreign governments, trade associations, chambers of commerce and similar organizations interested in or concerned about the policies, practices arid activities of the U.S. Government. While Mr. Richardson has represented interests in many industries, he has developed a particular specialty in the air transport industry. Mr. Richardson has been active in Democratic Party projects both at the national and local levels. He worked actively for the election and reelection of President Clinton and Vice President Gore in 1992 and 199&, and he supported Mayor Anthony Williams in the District of Columbia election last year. Mr. Richardson's other interests include travel, history and antiques. Mr. Richardson is active with and serves on the boards of several charitable organizations. Mr. Richardson is married to Margaret M. (Peggy) Richardson who served as IRS Commissioner in the first Clinton/Gore administration. The Richardsons' daughter Margaret graduated from the University of Virginia in 1998 and is presently working in an Americorp supported program in San Francisco. April 1999 |
