Dear Chairman Cropp:
Attached is a list of nominations for appointment to
various boards and commissions that I have transmitted to the Council
over the past several months that are pending before the Council. As my
Administration is winding down, I have decided in deference to the
incoming Mayor to defer making some new appointments. Thus, I am
withdrawing the nominations specified in the attachment, effective
today.
However, to ensure that the necessary operations of the
District government continue with as few major interruptions as
possible, I may still exercise my prerogative to submit a nomination to
the Council for appointment to a board or commission that may be
experiencing or will experience quorum problems prior to the end of the
year. I will also consult with the incoming Mayor in those instances.
