In Opposition to the Referendum
In a referendum at a special election on June 27, voters will be asked
to decide between two different structures for the D.C. Board of Education:
A nine-member Board composed of five elected and four appointed members; and
The current 11-member elected Board.
If passed, the referendum will also alter the roles and
responsibilities of the Board and enable the creation of a State Education Agency.
District residents are invited to come to this forum to learn more
about the referendum.
Voter Registration forms and requests for absentee ballots will be available at the forum.
