Statement By Harold Brazil:
"I support Bobby Goldwater's continued leadership
at the Sports and Entertainment Commission. Mr. Goldwater, along with the
Commission's chairman, John
Richardson, have taken great strides in making the
Commission a more professional and competitive organization. Antiquated
financial systems have been modernized, significant physical improvements
have been made to RFK Stadium, and comments from visitors and teams have
changed from negative to positive."
"It is unfortunate that the stories in the
Washington Post have taken such a one-sided approach with the Commission.
I am confident that when Councilmembers have had the opportunity to view
the full information on the issues facing the Commission, the majority
will support Mr. Goldwater continuing as CEO."
"Mr. Goldwater has a
solid reputation throughout the sports and entertainment industry. He is
known as a top-notch performer, who maintains the highest standards of
professionalism. It is my hope, that the Board opts to renew Mr.
Goldwater's contract." |
