During his eleven years on the Council and as a member of the Council’s Comrnitee on the Judiciary, Harry Thomas has been committed to making Ward 5 safer. He has urged Police Chiefs and District Commanders to deploy more officers and increase neighborhood patrols. He has also supported stricter sentencing for violent offenders.

Harry Thomas Works for Improved EDUCATION!

Harry Thomas has fought against privatization and supported consistent funding for public schools, funding for increased educational support systems, alternative learning programs and before and after cam programs. His care for children is evident in his endeavors to improve teacher-student ratios and award scholarship funding for college-bound students.

Harry Thomas Works to Create Jobs and Stimulate ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT!

Harry Thomas secured federal dollars for road and highway restoration. He pushed for Ward 5 street improvements. He worked for the development of Woodridge Place single family homes, the Montana Terrace Public Housing Redevelopment, Rite Aid Drug Store development, Salvation Army Harbor Light Facility construction, new Allstate Insurance Urban Claims Center, McKinley-Langley Recreation Center Reconstruction, Taft Playground Restoration and the new State Farm Claims Center.
