DISTRICT GOVERNMENT?
Education Establish better relationship with School Board.
Crime See that the new chief of police makes good on his promises
Housing When builders say affordable housing, disclose, immediately, the affordability to whom.
Better landlord and tenant relationships.
Rental Properties meet housing codes.
Use clout of office to assist citizens.
Report any wrongdoing of any elected official, government employee and government appointee.
Make impromptu visits to government agencies.
Set up phone lines so citizens can call and voice their yes or no vote on legislation and budget, when it is before the City Council. (See What you can do.)
City services will be supported for a productive city, through legislation and budget.
Investigate complaints from citizens.
Sponsor contests in the communities for our youth, with help from the community, churches and businesses, i.e., Dance, Design, Art, Singing, Poetry, etc.
Learn how your government works.
Get City Council calendar of the week by calling (202) 724-8080.
Check newspapers for meetings and events concerning your community.
Report problem areas in your community, i.e., unsecured abandon buildings, abandon autos, excessive trash, street repairs, etc.
In you have an explanation with your yes or no vote, write to my office. (It does not have to be formal or professionally done, it can be typed or handwritten, in ink, pencil, crayon or lipstick, just communicate with my office.)
Led recall on Mayor Marion Barry.
Exposed nepotism by the mayor, when he hired his brother-in-law, Walter Masters, who was dismissed. Challenged his voter registration. He was removed from the voter roll because of his Florida residency.
Had Tyronne Parker, Maryland resident, removed from DC voter roll.
Exposed Karen Jones Herbert, mayors appointee to the DC Taxicab Commission as chairperson, for voter fraud. She was removed from the voter roll, and dismissed as chairperson.
Led recall on former Ward 8 Councilmember Eydie Whittington. Found forged signatures on her nominating petition. She lost the next election, and was prosecuted and found guilty of making false statements.
Found forged signatures on Paul Simmons nominating petitions. His case was sent to the US Attorney Office, but has been misplaced.
Exposed contract abuse at the Department of Human Services. Director Vernon Hawkins was removed.
Exposed unethical business practices by Phinis Jones, Ward 8 businessman. Thereby, forfeiting all contracts with Department of Employment Services.
Exposed Alexis Roberson, Director of Department of Employment Services, for conspiring with Jones in unethical business practices. She was forced to resign.
First to report, in my newsletter, ONE PAGE AT A TIME, that Chief Larry Soulsby did not live on Erie Street SE.
Submitted to the Board of Elections and Ethics, 1,000 names that should be removed from the voter roll.
Actively working against: the new Convention Center being built in Shaw; Eastern Market manager, who is not paying money he collects from vendors, to the city; and H.R. Crawford, who has duped many poor families out of their homes.
Attended DC Public Schools. Graduate of Ballou Senior High School
Accounting course at Department of Agriculture.
Seven years of accounting, with Federal and District Governments.
One year as process server, private investigator and skip tracer.
Strong political activist since 1995.
