Linda Moody for At-Large City Council

1103 Bellevue Street, SE
Washington, DC 20032

Linda Moody was first elected to the D.C. Board of Education in November, 1990; re-elected in November, 1994; and has served the community with compassion and commitment for over 7 years. She believes elected representatives have the responsibility of educating the community about issues that will impact their rights as District citizens, alter city services and put their fate in the hands of those who do not have the best interest of the city. As At-Large City Councilmember, Linda pledges to keep all citizens informed and to be the voice to speak up for the value which we all share.

She has, from the beginning of her community service, taken positions based on principles in issues concerning healthcare, education, welfare, taxes, homerule, revitalization, safety and economic development. Linda has never turned away from controversy.

As board member, she supported school-based management, and rigorous evaluations of principals, teachers and staff. She is a front runner who strongly advocated for training staff on how to work more effectively with children and parents. Linda supported Life Skills being taught to students in all grades to develop personal and social values that are key in building community conscious citizens.

Her city-wide work includes D.C. Board of Education President, Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness Chairperson, D.C. Statewide Health Coordinating Council, D.C. Health Policy Council, Greater SE Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees Chairperson, and D.C. Parent Teacher Association Vice President.

Linda has proven her effectiveness as a city representative; she is not new to the issues facing our city and to the forces that seek to eliminate our rights to self government. Let's ensure Linda Moody continues to be a powerful voice in our struggle to gain control over our city and to “Do It Our Way”, the right way for us!
