President, District of Columbia Board of Education in 1994

Member of the Board of Education since 1991

Initiated Values Code Infusion pilot in Ward 8 Schools and in March of 1998, introduced it citywide to all schools; currently serving as a Founding Board member of the offshoot corporation Values First with Peter Schwartz

Constituent Services Director to former At large Councilmember Betty Ann Kane

Chairperson and member, Statewide Health Coordinating Council when the first Statewide Health Plan was adopted. (appointed by Mayor Barry)

Chairperson and member, District of Columbia Homeless Task Force where we discovered that most of the persons we serve are from out of state due to the liberal homeless laws we have and Mr. Cisneros decided to invest HUD money in providing better homes for homeless families. (appointed by Mayor Kelly)

Vice President, Convention Chairperson and currently Vice President for Service to all Local PTA's for the District of Columbia Parent Teacher Association. (Elected by the delegates)

Founding Member, Parents United For Full Funding of DC Public Schools

Founding member and Chairperson, DC Washington Parent Group Fund

Member, US Department of Environmental Protection Agency's Ward 8 Child Health Champion Collaborative. One of 11 nationally selected sites

Chairperson and 9 year member, Greater Southeast Community Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees interacting with the American Hospital Association and the DC Hospital Association, assisting in the establishment of the first DC Public School Adolescent Health Center

Assisted in coordinating East of the River Business and Economic Development Conferences interacting with developers of properties in Ward's 6, 7 and 8

Project Manager for the East of the River Construction Opportunities Fair interacting with Developers, Investors, Trade Unions and persons seeking employment in the Construction Industry. (ward's 6. 7 and 8)

Elected member and Chairperson of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 8A and serving on the Mayor's City Wide Advisory Council. Was responsible for the staggered implementation of food stamp distribution to enable all of us to have shorter lines in the grocery store, and for persons receiving the food stamps to have shorter lines in the cold and heat while receiving the stamps.

Served on numerous task forces and committees throughout Ward 8 and this City.
