He is a former editor of the Green Calendar & Environmental News Digest and helped establish Sarah House, a charity serving over 2,000 children living in public housing and homeless shelters in D.C.

DESERVE AND DEMAND:

full voting representation in Congress
real home rule: an elected local government with full authority over local affairs
safe water to drink and clean air to breathe
reciprocal taxing authority
public schools where children can learn, run by a locally elected school board
investments in public transportation — not subsidies for new suburban roads
drug treatment, not corporate prisons
real national security; universal health care, adult literacy and higher education
welfare for the poor instead of welfare for the rich: a dependable social safety net, funded by cutting the Pentagon budget and government handouts to big business
no federal interference with our discussions about rent control, workers compensation, consumer protection and the death penalty
