A PERSONAL VIEW FROM THE CANDIDATE

Today more and more funding opportunities have become available for DC Public School systems to utilize technology in their classrooms. But before they take advantage of these opportunities, they need to plan for the future to maximize the use of technology so that it becomes an invisible tool in every curriculum area English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Applied Learning. DC Public School Technology Committee should be a team of partners. The team should consist of school administrator(s) and members of the teaching staff The teaching staff should have representation from various grade levels. For example, the elementary schools, early childhood, lower and upper elementary teachers should be represented. Cluster teachers, special education and other teaching staff should be represented. Included other shareholders such as parents, students, business, community members and local universities.
