WHO IS THIS DYNAMIC YOUNG LEADER?

He is a 30 year old, Master’s Level Psychologist receiving his graduate degree from the University of the District of Columbia, and who plans to get a Doctorate in Psychology. He is currently employed by The National Conference for Community and Justice as Coordinator of Education and Training; is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a member of the Jabbock Christ Centered Ministry.

WHAT HAS BOSTON DONE?

  • While at UDC, was a member of the Young Democrats,
  • President/Founding Member, UDC’s Student Task Force on Non-Violence,
  • Founder of Potomac Garden’s Youth Work Program,
  • Conducted After School Program with boys at Gage-Eckington Elementary School,
  • Planner and Co-Convener for the Mayor’s “Day of Dialogue” in 1997 and 1998,
  • Facilitator in Ward 8 for the Mayor’s Office of Diversity.

WILLIAM BOSTON IS OUR BEST CHOICE FOR WARD 5 COUNCILMEMBER

With his background, training, experience, and interest in people, Mr. Boston is well prepared to lead the citizens of Ward 5 into the year 2000 by:

  • developing comprehensive After-School Care for Children,
  • refocusing on the needs of Senior Citizens i.e., building maintenance, health care and social services,
  • maintaining close neighborhood contact to provide immediate response to potholes, abandoned houses, street cleaning, etc.
  • addressing economic development, i.e., creation of jobs, support the development of small businesses,
  • supporting a continuance of “rent control”.
