The Washington, DC Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee ("WDCAR PAC") would like to officially announce its endorsement of Kathy Patterson for the Council of the District of Columbia seat in Ward 3. "Councilmember Patterson has had a strong voting record with the REALTORS®," commented Connie Maffin, WDCAR’s RPAC Chair. "Patterson will work to ensure that the District offers more homeownership opportunities to the public service employees that keep our streets safe and the teachers that educate our children."

Further, Councilmember Patterson’s record demonstrates a strong commitment to fiscal discipline by sharing WDCAR's aim of "holding the line" on the recordation and transfer tax rates. This is an important commitment in light of the District's dire fiscal situation in 2003 and 2004. "Councilmember Patterson also recognizes the value homeownership," continued Maffin. "She understands the importance of keeping closing costs down so that potential homeowners can achieve the dream of homeownership." WDCAR looks forward to continuing its work with Councilmember Patterson to help encourage homeownership for everyone and provide livable communities throughout the District.
