ARNOLD DANIELS, JR.

Independent Candidate For MAYOR
Tuesday November 5, 2002

ARE YOU NOT TIRED OF POOR Employment opportunities? we must seek to have real employment ready JOB FAIRS. We need to bring more Federal Agenda into the city. It is the Federal Government and the District Governments that provide the most employment for people of all levels in the District of Columbia.

ARE YOU NOT TIRED OF POOR use of city administrators time in seeking Develeopment Opportunities. It is our CONSTITUTIONAL role to be the seat of the Federal Government. Let us seek to have the Federal Government bring the new department of Homeland Security to the Anacostia. Let us pursue the Federal Government to not take development and jobs to Virginia, but bring them to all parts of the City. Let us accept our responsibility to this Country and fullfill our CONSTITUTIONAL role. As the recent Brookings study suggest the more we engage the Federal Government the greater will be the negotiating power of this City. It will improve our City's finances dramatically as we accept our role as a City and welcome the Federal Government to be the lead partner in all areas of this City's Deveopment.

ARE YOU NOT TIRED OF A POOR SCHOOL SYSTEM that must constantly face budget cuts. We can all accept the Teachers are doing their job with inadequate school supplies, books, buildings, additional training opportunities and equipment. We all know that it is not that TEACHERS are not doing their job, tit that students are not stupid They see that Dad, Uncle, Cousin and other male figures do not have a job that offers them self respect. They then see no benefit in performing well in a classroom when they know at the end of the day there are no EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES that will offer them a life where they feel respected, honored and appreciated.

ARE YOU NOT TIRED OF POOR ATHELETIC OPPORTUNITIES for our youth. It is
imperative that we increase the ATHELETIC OPPORTUNITIES And RECREATIONAL activities for our youth. They know there are opportunities in all sports, and cheer leading that will lead to scholarships to attend institutions of higher learning. We must encourage the develpment of all open spaces appropriate for recreational activities to allow interested persons in developing the ATHELETIC SKILLS of our youth of all ages. The younger they develop skills the greater opportunities for us to uncover many more elite ATHELES in this City.
