WARD 7 DEMOCRATIC LEADERS ENDORSE RAY BROWNE FOR U.S. REPRESENTATIVE (SHADOW)

Despite what many say about the Shadow Representatives job, many in the city support Ray Browne and believe he can make a difference. For example, Ward 7 leaders of the Democratic Party, including D.C. Councilmember Kevin Chavous and Sam Bost, President of the Far Northeast-Southeast Council, have heartily endorsed Browne for U.S. Representative (Shadow).

Browne, received the third highest vote of all the candidates in the September Democratic Primary (something not reported in the mainstream press) and is the Democratic candidate for the post.

Those supporting Ray’s campaign understand that only in the District of Columbia is an American citizen denied the right to say how his or her local tax money is spent despite raising 80 percent of the money needed to support the City. Only in the District of Columbia do we send our sons and daughters to fight for democracy in foreign lands without allowing the same rights here at home. And, only in the District of Columbia can its residents vote on issues critical to our quality of life only to have those votes overturned by members of Congress who would never force residents of their home states to live under the same rules. Changing all of that is Ray’s major goal as DC’s Representative (shadow).
